Well, maybe not so much for use, but this is definitely bad news for Icon, the gaming convention we pair up with. I'm sure Icon will just go to a different location... but this isn't good: Quote: The final event on the schedule is a pet show set for April 21 Mid-West will not renew it's lease on the Warehouse in September That's really a shame too, not just because of Icon, but the Warehouse in general was the only decent Venue around and Midwest got BIG acts for this type of town to come in! Slipknot, Breaking Benjamin, Skindred... just to name a few, the last concert in March will be Saliva... and now Springfield has managed to drive away yet another attraction. And get this shit... now that they managed to drive Midwest broadcasting out: Quote: Mahoney said he's concerned about having an empty 43,000-square-foot building in his ward. What a complete prick. He bitches and complains like a little girl until the Warehouse has to follow so many rules they can't turn a profit from rock shows anymore, he gets his way, then what does he do. I just talked to Paul (I-Con organizer) and he is looking for another venue. Right now I am thinking it might be the Crowne again. We will know more later though. I will keep you all posted. |

Well whoopie fucking doo, the one worthwhile venture in Springfield gets killed. I know I left at the right time. Complete jack shit for anyone between the ages of 18-30 to do. |

There is NOTHING in this town that would appeal to young adults. The entire Springfield city council needs slapped in the face. However I would not oppose going back to the Crowne. 'Twas a nice facility

IMO that building is worth about half that... it's a freakin warehouse. But in true Springfield style, they'll ask too much for it and it's going to sit empty for years as the building becomes dilapidated from none-use and eventually loses it's value to the point where no one would buy it for a tenth of that price. How many years was that building empty before Midwest bought it??? A long time!! Keep destroying your self Springfield. |
